Year 12 students visit London Central Mosque

On Tuesday 14th May our year 12 RE students visited the London Central Mosque and the Islamic Cultural Centre. This trip perfectly complemented our study of Islam in Component 1 of the A-Level RE course. The students really enjoyed learning about Islamic history and the tour of the beautiful mosque.

Mr Mezzi, the visits coordinator, gave a brief talk on the history of Islam and of the Mosque. He encouraged curiosity and answered the student's questions clearly and he pitched the talk perfectly for our year 12 students. They were able to pick up new information and knowledge which will benefit them in their A-Level exam.

Students visited the prayer hall and either took part or observed the mid-day prayer (zuhr) being prayed in congregation.

The Exhibition on Islam was an invaluable source of learning for all students.
