Oaks Park High School Sixth Form
Welcome to Oaks Park High School Sixth Form
Every student who joins Oaks Park Sixth Form can expect a warm welcome and a highly supportive environment where independence and responsibility are fostered. Our culture is built on high expectations, challenging students to achieve excellence and helping them develop into confident, well-rounded young adults. As noted in our recent Ofsted report, "Pupils work hard and achieve exceptionally well, including in the sixth form".
A strong sense of "belonging" runs through the very fabric of our Sixth Form. Our students are a prominent force in the school community, and Ofsted inspectors highlighted that "Sixth-form students are excellent role models". They actively engage in volunteer work, mentor younger pupils, and model the values of Oaks Park
Sixth Form
Outstanding Academic Achievement and Pathways We are exceptionally proud of our academic standards. In the 2024–2025 academic year, our students achieved a 99% overall A-Level pass rate, with 53% of grades at A–B*. Our results achieved an ALPS Grade 2 (Outstanding), placing us in the top 10% of providers nationally for progress, while our disadvantaged students placed in the top 5%.
This success is driven by an ambitious curriculum and engaging lessons, with Ofsted observing that students "engage with lesson content and participate exceptionally well, including in the sixth form". We offer both traditional A Levels and high-quality vocational courses, including a cutting-edge Digital Media & Computing Applications Level 3 AAQ pathway designed for the digital revolution.
State-of-the-Art Facilities and Technology: To ensure our students are prepared to excel at university and beyond, we fully embrace technology. Every Year 12 student beginning their sixth form journey at Oaks Park is provided with a Chromebook to support independent study and personalised learning. Students benefit from an exceptionally well-resourced independent learning area and exclusive access to the Sixth Form Library. This reflects the school's wider commitment to literacy, where "The school prioritises reading for all pupils, including in the sixth form".
Award-Winning Careers Guidance and Future Destinations We believe all students should have access to opportunities that allow them to apply for the most competitive courses and careers. Our award-winning careers programme is highly effective; as Ofsted recognised, "Sixth-form students are well supported with university, apprenticeship and job applications".
- University Success: 90% of our UCAS applicants go on to study at university, with 18% securing places at prestigious Russell Group institutions, including Oxford, Cambridge, and UCL.
- The Oxbridge Programme: As the Oxbridge Interview Hub for Redbridge, we provide unparalleled preparation, tutorials, and mock interviews for our most ambitious students.
- Professional Partnerships: We help students secure highly sought-after degree apprenticeships with industry leaders like Amazon, Sky, Deloitte, and HMRC.
Beyond the Classroom: The Super Curriculum and Societies: At Oaks Park, learning does not stop at the classroom door. Our bespoke Super Curriculum helps students build skills highly valued by employers and universities through a unique guest lecture series, community volunteering, and academic seminars.
Students also lead and participate in a vibrant array of societies, including the Med Soc, Law Society, STEM Society, Culture Society, True Crime Club, and Wellbeing Ambassadors. These groups allow students to explore new interests, develop leadership qualities, and build lasting friendships.
A Supportive Transition: We know that the jump to Sixth Form is a significant step, which is why our transition programme is carefully planned by a dedicated pastoral team. Our nurturing environment is central to our ethos; Ofsted inspectors observed that "Pupils said they can be themselves at this school" and that they "thrive here because they are safe and well cared for". From our summer Induction Day to our early parental engagement evenings, we ensure every learner settles smoothly into Sixth Form life and feels supported every step of the way.
