National Careers Week 2024

Last week, we embarked on a journey of exploration, inspiration, skill development and empowerment for our students as they delved into the vast landscape of career possibilities and personal development through our week-long activities to mark National Careers Week. The week-long event built on our careers programme enabling students to further develop their understanding of a diverse range of career possibilities, helping them make informed decisions about their future paths.

The highlight of the week was our vibrant Careers Fair on Wednesday, where over 35 representatives, including Employers, Apprenticeship providers, and Higher Education experts, engaged with our students, offering a unique window into diverse career paths. The Careers Fair, featuring representatives from various sectors, allows students to gain valuable insights into different professions, understand the required qualifications, and develop a clearer vision of their career goals. Students feedback from the event has been extremely positive, with one student, commenting that it had helped them finalis their future path.

The buzz continued with our dynamic Careers Cafe, featuring industry professionals sharing their success stories and problem-solving skills. The interactive nature of events like the Careers Cafe encourages students to engage with industry professionals, learn about employability skills, and understand how these skills are applied in real-world scenarios.

Throughout the week, students also further immersed themselves in curriculum-linked activities, bridging the gap between their studies and real-world careers, fostering a deeper understanding of their education's relevance. Connecting curriculum activities to actual careers bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, making education more meaningful and relevant to students.
