CGI Young Dreamers Final
Students in year 9 had the privilege to work with professionals from CGI young dreamers, the Crown Prosecution service, CAFCASS, The Metropolitan Police service and His Majesty’s Prison service to encourage STEM careers for students.
All of year 9 participated, six teams went through to the Finals at Lords Cricket Ground on Wednesday 22nd May 2024, and two of these teams won in the Math and Engineering categories, the winners were Cater Crew and Care+Connect. All students who participated came up with innovative, creative and interesting ideas and put a lot of work into creating presentations, goodie bags, posters, models websites and they really showed their amazing ability with technology creating working qr codes and interfaces that the judges felt was amazing. The finalists also had the opportunity to take part in team building workshops, use VR headsets to explore a virtual world, develop debating techniques, and speak to the National Crime Agency about their idea on how to reduce crime in London.
Well done to all the finalists,The Rehabilitation Academy, Beyond the Swipe, Cater Crew, AI Public Service Alliance, New Generation and Care+Connect, they should be really proud of themselves.
In addition to their success, the Math team Care+Connect, who will be working with CAFCASS to create a video to show at their annual seminar to showcase their amazing idea for an app which helps children and young people entering the care system match up with a social worker that is suited to their individuality.
