Dear Parents and Carers,
As we are in the midst of the season of giving and goodwill, we are looking for your support and the ‘giving’ of a small amount of your time that would mean a great deal to those who receive it!
From Monday 5th March to Friday 9th March 2018, across the UK all schools will be celebrating ‘National Careers Week’. As a school we are committed to ensuring that all students have the necessary information, advice and guidance to feel confident about progressing onto different career paths once they have finished school. We will therefore be hosting a range of events to support students and we need your support and involvement to make this an inspiring experience for students.
We would like to invite parents, carers and governors into the school throughout the week to give an insight into your career to your own child’s form. We are aware that our stakeholder community at Oaks Park have a diverse range of exciting careers that would be of interest to our students and would benefit them greatly in broadening their horizons and future aspirations.
The talks would not have to take much preparation. You, as a parent, carer or governor, would simply need to come into school during our form time (12:55-1:20) to make a give a short presentation with time for questions about your career to a small group of students. The form tutor would also be present to support you, but I am know from previous events that our students love to hear from visitors who always cite their exemplary behaviour as a credit to the school. If you are able to give a small amount of your time then please respond YES to the Groupcall request that will be sent home over the next few days, or alternatively get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org, please title your email ‘Careers Talk’ to enable it to be directed to the IAG team who will make contact with you. Many thanks in anticipation for your support with this event.
