Oaks Park High School’s 4th annual Film Festival was held on Thursday 15th December 2016 with an exceptional turn out of over 90 students, staff and parents who attended the evening to view the excellent array of films produced by Year 13 Media and Film Studies students.
Donations and ticket sales exceeded more than £350 and counting, which will be contributed towards Macmillan Cancer Support.
The evening began with a touching speech by Chloe Lashley and Elise Thompson as a dedication to Mr Foster who sadly passed away Summer 2014. Followed by a presentation led by Barry Turi to remember ex-student Tanzeer Elahi.
The viewing began with the 2015 Winner ‘Broken’ and a short film by international exchange student Chiarra Franchina.
The evening ended with an Award Ceremony to congratulate the students, with awards handed out by Mr P Assegai (Head of Department) and Ms J Hamill (Head teacher).
Winners included ‘Red Hood’ for Teacher Choice Best Film, ‘Dear Mum’ for Best Director and Best Screenplay, ‘Replica’ for Best Production Team, ‘Seeing Things’ for Best Sound, ‘Chance’ for Audience Choice Best Film, which was developed by Year 10 Students and many more.
